In recognition of a life dedicated to healing, scholarship, and national service, Dr. Raja Bhaumik has been conferred with the prestigious Desh Ratna Award—one of India’s highest civilian honors celebrating exceptional service to the nation.
A distinguished physician, nephrologist, diabetologist, and critical care expert, Dr. Bhaumik has made immense contributions to India’s healthcare sector, with successful medical practices across Ameerpet, Madhapur, and Hafeezpet, Hyderabad. With advanced training from some of the country’s top institutions—including Gandhi Medical College, Mahaveer Hospital, and Apollo Hospitals—he stands as a beacon of medical excellence and patient-centered care.
Beyond the white coat, Dr. Bhaumik is also a historian and author, passionately preserving and highlighting India’s freedom struggle through original research and literature. His monumental work, “Journey to India's Freedom from 1858–1948: An Untold Story,” spans two volumes and over 900 pages, providing a deep dive into the lives of revolutionary freedom fighters—the often-overlooked heroes of India’s independence movement.
