Forensic Expert Shweta Umre to be Honored at Veer Savarkar National Conclave & Award 2026
Prime Minister Awardee and Global Peace Leader Recognized for Excellence in Forensic Science, Public Service, and Youth Leadership
New Delhi: Distinguished forensic expert, researcher, and youth leader Shweta Umre is set to be honored at the prestigious Veer Savarkar National Conclave & Award 2026, organized by the Bharti Yuva Welfare Association. The grand ceremony will take place at Bharat Mandapam, one of India’s leading international convention venues.
Currently serving in the Special Cell of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police as a Forensic Expert, Shweta Umre has established herself as a remarkable professional in the field of forensic science. She holds a postgraduate degree in forensic science with specialization in questioned documents and white-collar crimes and is presently pursuing her PhD at the prestigious National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar. Her research focuses on forensic document preservation aimed at safeguarding India’s important legal documents.
Shweta Umre is also a Prime Minister Awardee who was honored by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi after winning the 1st National Youth Parliament Festival in 2019, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Her achievement highlighted her exceptional abilities in public speaking and leadership. She later represented her university in an interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024, where discussions focused on youth participation in national politics.
Her contributions extend beyond India to the global stage. Shweta currently serves as the Lead for Research and Policy to the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network, making her one of the twelve global leaders for peace within the Commonwealth. She previously served as India’s Peace Ambassador to the organization for the 2023–25 tenure, representing the nation internationally on issues related to interfaith harmony, mental health awareness, and anti-terrorism laws.
In 2019, she represented India as the National Youth Delegate at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) held in Brunei Darussalam. Her international engagements also include participation in global discussions on education, racism, society, and youth empowerment under various Commonwealth initiatives.
Apart from her academic and diplomatic achievements, Shweta Umre has earned recognition in public speaking, winning over 200 debate and oratory competitions, including prestigious national platforms such as All India Universities Debate Nationals and Speak for India. Her inspiring journey also includes accomplishments in sports, where she represented her state in taekwondo, yoga, and diving competitions.
Professionally, she has previously served as Senior Security Officer at SESA Goa Iron Ore Mines, Vedanta Pvt. Ltd., demonstrating leadership in the corporate sector as well. She was also honored with the Mayor’s Award by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for bringing pride to her city through her outstanding achievements.
The Veer Savarkar National Conclave & Award 2026 is a prestigious national platform dedicated to honoring individuals and organizations for their exceptional contributions in fields such as public service, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, innovation, and social development.
