Abubakar Abdi, originally from Darbhanga district of Bihar, will be honored with the National Icon Award 2024 in New Delhi.

Abubakar Abdi, originally from Darbhanga district of Bihar, will be honored with the National Icon Award 2024 in New Delhi. 

This honor will be given to him in a joint program of BYWA and some ministries at Kamani Auditorium in Delhi, which will be organized on 25 June 2024.

Let us know, Who is Mr. Abubakar Abdi?

Mr. Abubakar Abdi is a resident of Darbhanga, Bihar. He is a young Social Worker & Educationist. He is actively involved in social work and community upliftment programs. He is the Director of the prestigious Don Bosco School of Darbhanga. He is known for his dedication, perseverance and high character. 

At a very young age he played an important role in social work. He has started his social life from interact club of the world's largest social charity organization Rotary International. 

During the time of Corona Pandemic, he has played an important role in helping people and was greatly appreciated among the people.

He has brought his life into social work from a very young age and even today he plays an important role in social work.

His contributions are widely acknowledged by the people. His chief contribution is to empower people by spreading awareness among them. He is known for helping the needy in challenging times such as epidemics or natural calamities like floods etc.. Improving the standard of living of the underprivileged and working for the education of children, especially girl children have been his major contributions. Motivating and grooming youths, developing confidence in them to face the challenges of life and fight the evils like drugs, alcohol etc. He has worked under the banner of national and international organisations for social welfare. Youths have been tremendously helped by his initiatives. Many youths have joined him in his cause and they are working under his guidance for the upliftment of society.

For over 12 years, Mr. Abu Bakar Abdi has been helping people through several social programmes and hopes to see India in a better state. He initiated his journey in the field of social service as a member of the Interact Club, a part of the world's largest social charity organization, Rotary International. Since then, he has been dedicated to serving his community, with a particular focus on empowering the youth.

 He worked day and night during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, to provide relief to those in need. Abu Bakr moved forward with the vision of our honourable PM, Mr Narendra Modi and left no stone unturned in creating awareness regarding COVID-19 vaccination, distributing food and medicines to the poor and rehabilitating the victims. Abu Bakr's contributions extend beyond his early involvement with the Interact Club. He has served as the president of the Interact Club, DBS where he has been instrumental in organising camps in government schools, for distributing Study Materials to needy students, holding competitions and organising free medical camps. He also held the position of the President at the Rotary Club, St. Xavier college, Ranchi, where He has also contributed to many campaigns like blood donation camps, Health and nutrition campaigns, etc. His Anti Drug Campaign and youth guidance program made him an inspiration for the youth. He along with his team of youths work tirelessly fighting against the evils of drugs and bringing education to the poor. He is a role model for the youth and his views on alcohol, tobacco, and drugs strongly affect their behaviour. His concern regarding the education of the girl child takes him door to door in the educationally backward areas, explaining to the parents the importance of education to the girl child and persuading them to get their children admitted in schools. Every year, He gets at least 30 students admitted in reputed schools and arrange for their free education from his own pocket. Currently, he is a member of several esteemed social organizations, including Rotary International, UNESCO Club of Darbhanga City, Lions Club, North Bihar Horticulture Society, and The Indian Red Cross Society. These affiliations enable him to expand the reach of his social work and positively impact a wider section of society.

Due to his hard work, 675 people got COVID-19 vaccination directly under his guidance. Food and Medicines were provided to the underprivileged. Regular organising of these camps gives many an access to vaccination, medicines, free books, blankets in winter etc. Hundreds of blood donation camps, and health camps, have been organised. Every year, the education of 30 girl children is sponsored. Inspired by him, many youths have joined him. A large number of youth have become employable. Many youths from underprivileged sections are given job assistance along with financial assistance. Guidance and training Cell has been established at the premises of Don Bosco School which has guided hundreds of youth. Youths who needed counselling and support are now able to lead a normal life. Overall, he is able to create a sense of hope among many and lead them towards a more purposeful life.

He is very Good and High Character person. He always looks forward for helping the People, Every People of his town Loves and respect him because of his hard work .

For all these works of Abubakar Abdi, he will now be honored with the National Icon Award in New Delhi on 25 June 2024.
