Mr. Manmatha Bhat Honoured for Transformative Contributions in Social Work, Education & Environmental Conservation

In recognition of his unwavering dedication to rural empowerment, environmental conservation, and inclusive education, Mr. Manmatha Bhat, a visionary from Karnataka, has been conferred with national acclaim for his multi-dimensional contributions to society. With over 19 years of committed service, Mr. Bhat has emerged as a changemaker whose efforts span across grassroots education, gender equality, and scientific innovation.

A native of Karnataka and a Diploma holder in Film Arts (DFA), Mr. Bhat has spent nearly two decades dedicated to uplifting rural communities, especially advocating for the education of the girl child in underprivileged areas. His journey began with the establishment of a non-profit organisation focused on providing free educational access to girls in remote villages, helping bridge the gender gap in literacy.

A man of diverse passions, Mr. Bhat has also made remarkable strides in the field of aerospace research, founding an independent Research and Development firm that promotes scientific thinking and innovation in India’s evolving aerospace sector.

Beyond education and science, his commitment to wildlife conservation is equally exemplary. As the Managing Trustee of Project Macaque Trust, Mr. Bhat has taken a leading role in the preservation of the endangered Lion-Tailed Macaque species native to the Western Ghats—a critical ecological hotspot.

In his role as President of the Bharat Kesari Trust, Mr. Bhat oversees the operations of a government primary school. Demonstrating rare generosity, he personally donated a school bus worth ₹20 lakhs and continues to bear the annual operational costs, including insurance, fuel, and salaries for both academic and non-teaching staff—amounting to approximately ₹5 lakhs every year.

His life mission is grounded in a powerful vision: "Empowering Rural India". Through targeted interventions in education, especially for girls, Mr. Bhat is actively working to eliminate gender discrimination and provide equal opportunity to those at the margins.
